Warmer weather brings the opportunity to take my meals outdoors. I love a good picnic, surrounded by my family and friends, sharing a good meal. There are some fabulous Middle Eastern foods that can easily be served in an outdoor setting. Hummus and pita bread are always winners and do well outdoors. Instead of burgers and hotdogs, I like to make a salad and sandwiches, and I always make sure there are plenty of snacks. Do you have some favorite Middle Eastern foods that you take to picnics? If you do, share your thoughts below! Share Your Favorites

Tabbouli

I can't wait to try your recipe for kisir!! We usually bring tabbouli. My husband loves spicy food, I'm sure we'll love it just like all the recipes on your blog.

Pan o Panir o Sabzi

My favorite Middle Eastern picnic food is a Persian dish called Pan o Panir o Sabzi. It is simply bread (pita or lavash), cheese (usually feta. For me I like French feta best) and fresh herbs such as mint, watercress, dill and tarragon. Green onions and walnuts can also be added. Take some bread wrap it around some cheese and herbs of your liking and even some green onion and walnuts. Just eat! This is very good for a hiking picnic as it can easily fit into a backpack.
