Making the Perfect Pita BreadCombine water, yeast and sugar in small bowl until frothy. Combine 1/2 cup warm water, 1 package of yeast, and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Allow yeast to dissolve. Wait until yeast water turns frothy (10-15 minutes). - Combine water, yeast and sugar in small bowl until frothy.
- Combine flour and salt in large bowl and add yeast water.
- Slowly add warm water.
- Mix dough.
- Knead dough.
- Place dough in oil coated bowl and allow to rise.
- Make into a rope and pinch off small pieces.
- Roll balls into circles with a rolling pin.
- Place on preheated baking sheet and bake for 4-6 minutes.
- Serve warm!
