Hummus and Turkey Sandwich Recipe

Hummus replaces traditional mayo, mustard, or oil and vinegar in this recipe. You can use a variety of hummus for this recipe for added flavor. Check out these hummus variations.

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf pita bread or sliced bread of choice
  • Your choice of hummus (see below)
  • Romaine lettuce
  • Delicatessen turkey or leftover roasted turkey, sliced or chopped

Preparation:

You can use store bought hummus for this recipe or make your own hummus. Hummus comes in many varieties and flavors.

Cut pita loaf in half or lay flat two pieces of sliced bread. Spread an even layer of hummus on each side of bread. Top with turkey, lettuce, and cucumber slices. Top with other slice of bread. If using pita, fill with hummus, turkey, and vegetables to taste. Serve immediate or wrap and refrigerate
