This delicious dip offers a fantastic flavor that is perfect on pita bread and chips. Pomegranate seeds are paired with onions and cilantro in a plain yogurt to create a dip far tastier than anything that can be bought at the store.
Ingredients:
- 1 large pomegranate
- 2 cups plain yogurt, chilled
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1/3 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- fresh sprigs of mint to be used for garnish
Preparation:
Remove seeds from pomegranate and set aside. I have instructions here on how to easily de-seed a pomegranate.
In a bowl, add yogurt, cilantro, onions, salt and allspice. Mix well.
Gently fold in pomegranate seeds. Leave about a tablespoon in reserve if you would like to add some for garnish. Sprinkle dip with fresh sprigs of mint. Serve immediately or cover and chill.
