Figs and Syrup

Fig lovers will love this recipe that features sweet figs drizzled with syrup. This is a light dessert that will satisfy any sweet tooth.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups dried figs
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest and juice from 1 small orange or 3 tablespoons of orange juice

Preparation:

In a medium saucepan combine sugar, water, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and orange zest and juice from orange. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Add figs and simmer. Cook until syrup has become thick and figs are soft.
