Chlada Fakya - Fruit Salad

Chlada fakya is a delicious fruit salad from Algeria. This recipe for Chlada fakya has some spices which make such a difference! Feel free to add or omit other types of fruit.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cantaloupe or any type of melon, peeled and cubed
  • 4 oranges, peeled and wedges separated
  • 2 apples, wedged
  • 2 bananas sliced
  • juice from 2 lemon or 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons orange blossom water
  • 1/4 teapsoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation:

Place fruit in a large bowl. Add orange juice, orange blossom water, lemon juice, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla.

With a sodden spoon, gently mix well. Be careful not to mash the bananas.

Serve immediately, or chill in the refrigerator for up to two hours prior to serving. If chilling, be sure to toss before serving.
