McFalafel - How to Make a McFalafel

By , About.com Guide

I love a good Big Mac from McDonald's, just like the next guy. But, when I am in Egypt, I can't resist the McFalafel. No kidding, McDonald's offers a falafel sandwich that rivals the Big Mac anyday. The great thing about the McFalafel is that the "secret sauce" is no secret. Every ingredient is out in the open, making it a cinch to make at home. It's also a much healthier version.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 prepared batch of falafel, chaped into patties and deep fried
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices tomato
  • lettuce
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • tahini sauce

Preparation:

Prepare and fry falafel. Be sure to shape into hamburger patties.

Once falafel is done, it is time to prepare the sandwiches. They will be assembled in this order:

1. Bun
2. Falafel
3. Tomato slice
4. Lettuce
5. Onions
6. Tahini sauce
7. Bun (Top)

Serve immediately with french fries for the full Middle Eastern McDonald's experience!
