Flank Steak with Harissa

By Saad Fayed, About.com

Harissa really adds spice and flavor to any cut of red meat, especially flank steak. Flank steak is thin enough that it really absorbs the harissa. Grilled or oven cooked, it is sure to be crowd pleaser!

Harissa is a condiment found in North African cooking. It is very spicy! Make your own with this harissa recipe, or purchase at gourmet or Middle Eastern store.

Ingredients:

  • 3 lb. flank steak, trimmed of fat
  • 1/2 cup harissa
  • 2 tablespoons warm water

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. IN a small bowl, mix harissa and water.

  3. With a basting brush, brush harissa on both sides of flank steak.

Place flank steak on baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, or until desired doneness.
