
These sweet treats from Lebanon are perfect for any occassion. Small balls of dough are fried to a golden browned crisp and then coated with simple syrup. Awamat is so easy to make and perfect when you want something sweet in a pinch. As for simple syrup, I make large batches at a time and store it in my pantry so I always have it on hand for any dessert I'd like to use it with.
One recommendation I'd like to make about awamat: make sure you make enough of these to go around. There is no way you can eat just one!
